Our Interior Design Process
We have developed our simple process based on the belief that there is beauty in simplicity.
While we love the opportunity to collaborate from Step 1, our team can support your interior design project at one step, or at multiple steps of the process, depending on how much help you need.
Step 1. Assess your space and your goals
The first step is easy and you have no obligation to commit to Step 2 unless you are comfortable to proceed. We offer an introductory visit for $70 per room (max. 50sqm) where we collect some information from you, perform a measure-up of the space, and conduct an interior assessment based on our holistic Mind | Body | Spaces design principles.
Step 3. Design & Document it
By this step, we have collected enough information to produce documentation such as interior layout drawings, a technical specification, a furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) schedule, and 3D interior renderings (if required).
Step 5. Oversee & Realise it
Once financing of the project has been locked in, our team is able to support the delivery of the project by placing product orders, scheduling tradespeople, overseeing and inspecting deliveries, product & trade quality inspections.
Step 2. Explore ideas & Visualise it
Once we have collected information and provided some early guidance, we can provide a quote to develop a concept design. This is a fixed quote, but will vary depending on the size and scope of each interiors project. Once the quote is accepted this step will involve a meeting to discuss suitable colours, textures, product selections and combinations. The end outputs of the concept design stage are a digital sketch plan, mood board, materials board, preliminary cost schedule and a preliminary 3D rendering (if requested).
Step 4. Plan & Coordinate it
Planning & coordinating a project can be stressful and time-consuming. Our team can support you with this task by leveraging our access to product supplier trade discounts and vetted tradespeople to provide quotes. We will use our experience to identify the most appropriate order of works to be done. Our fees for this step are always based on a fixed hourly rate as the time and effort involved in this step can be very unpredictable. To prevent any unexpected costs we can provide an estimated time, a daily cost cap, as well as detailed daily timesheet reporting on hours spent. The outputs from this step are a project risk assessment, estimated (prioritised) timeline, final project budget, and all trade quotes.
Step 6. Reflect and Enjoy it
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
